I got 90% of Job Calls by using this strategy

5 min read

Hey, are you seriously looking to improve your job prospects and get to the place you want to be?

Here are some tips and my story that I used to land multiple job interviews. After being laid off from my current organization, I began applying to jobs on various portals but wasn't getting enough calls. Moreover, the calls I did receive weren't quite what I was looking for. So, I revamped my resume and implemented some strategies to attract the right job opportunities.

You know what? I started receiving job interview offers almost every single day for the positions I applied for. I thought, why not share these strategies to help others find their dream jobs? There are multiple factors to consider when building a resume. First, think about whether it's intended for human review or if it's going through an automated system on job portals. Did you know that many resumes get rejected if their keywords don't match what employers are looking for? So, start by optimizing your resume with the right keywords. Second, if AI systems select your resume based on keywords, make sure it's visually appealing. These two factors are crucial: getting selected by an automated system and then impressing the human HR reviewer. Your resume should be packed with relevant keywords and details and should have a clean, distraction-free design.

For example, when I was applying for the role of Director of Design in marketing, I was getting calls from agencies, which wasn't what I wanted. I aimed to work with product and startup companies and help them grow. So, I adjusted my keywords to "Brand Design Director in Marketing" and I started receiving calls for the positions I truly desired. I also focused on the design elements and colours to catch the human eye for at least a second.

I concentrated on making my resume stand out to automated systems and grab the attention of HR professionals, who often have limited time to review each resume. Take a look at the resume I created for myself, which resulted in a 90% success rate in getting interview calls.
